"This Psora is the sole true and fundamental cause that produces all the other countless forms of disease, which, under the names of nervous debility, hysteria, hypochondriasis, insanity, melancholy, idiocy, madness, epilepsy, and spasms of all kinds, softening of the bones, or rickets, scoliosis and cyphosis, caries, cancer, fungus haematodes, gout -- yellow jaundice and cyanosis, dropsy -- gastralgia, epistaxis, haemoptysis -- asthma and suppuration of the lungs -- megrim, deafness, cataract and amaurosis -- paralysis, loss of sense, pains of every kind, etc., appear in our pathology as so many peculiar, distinct, and independent diseases."
Rummel, ..., speaks of curing a case of jaundice in thirty-four days by Homoeopathic doses of pulsatilla, aconite, and cinchona. I happened to have a case in my own household, a few weeks since, which lasted about ten days, and this was longer than I have repeatedly seen it in hospital practice, so that it was nothing to boast of.
Aber auch Holmes weiss, dass alle Experimente, Studien und Bemühungen keine Erfolg haben werden, wie die Astrologie oder andere Religionen bedient Homöopathie tiefverwurzelte menschliche Bedürfnisse. Man muss damit leben, bzw. in diesem Falle: Sterben.
Orac beginnt übrigens mit einem Zitat:
Do you think I don't understand the hydrostatic paradox of controversy? If you had a bent tube, one arm of which was the size of a pipe-stem and the other big enough to hold the ocean, water would stand at the same height in one as in the other. Thus discussion equalizes fools and wise men in the same way, and the fools know it.
Dem ist nicht hinzuzufügen.
